Tigaki beach, Kos, Greece.
One minute you are enjoying the end of a busy morning sat on the beach next thing you are knee deep in rising tide photographing flying fruit and vegetables. I had seen them loading a small boat off the beach earlier in the week so it was a quick decision that had me running back to the apartment for my camera. Just off Tigaki beach a boat anchors with an even smaller boat heading towards a small jetty resembling a collection of scaffolding poles where a jeep and trailer is parked packed full of produce, utilizing the best way to get your goods to your customers. Not a lot was said as I walked over to the stern looking Greeks busy loading, too busy to small talk in English to a tourist and lets face it my carefully studied and practiced Greek meant that I was only able to say ‘Yamas’. I dont think they minded too much although I got a bit trigger happy and was just enjoying being able to witness a rare piece of greek culture.
